Blanket prohibitions on cross burnings are constitutional. From the creation account in the Bible, humans are created in the image of God (New International Version, Gen. 1.27). Therefore, this implies that all humans, Black or White are created in the image of God. If so, then why must stratification on how humans should be treated exist between the human races yet we are all created in the likeliness of one person? Drawing my argument from this piece of account, therefore, by making this law unconstitutional we will be conflicting the Creator’s decree (New International Version, Gen. 1.26-28).
Human beings rights have one major feature of being universal, the word universal means something that relates to everyone in the world .Therefore, laws, rights and freedoms only become universal to people who share common features, which means all people in the world have common characteristics for their rights to be universal. It sounds absurd when Blanket prohibitions on Cross burnings is made unconstitutional in Virginia while the laws which govern all the races in Virginia are the same given that human rights are universal. If any case effectiveness was to be achieved in the proper implementation of this repugnant regulation “making blanket prohibition on cross burnings unconstitutional” then segregative inhuman laws are to be enacted (Spagnoli 34).
Should this law be made unconstitutional then it may result in intense civil unrest among the people of America since the Blacks, Mexicans, and their few sympathizers will be prompted to fight for their equal place in America as was witnessed after world war 2 when civil activists together with their sympathizers were met with harsh opposition when they fought for equality. Many countries ape the level of political maturity that America enjoys today, the good growth of the American economy is majorly pegged on the peace that America enjoys today, which means that anything that will fade away this peace like this law in question, should be America’s biggest enemy of all seasons.
