Special education is the art of educating learners in a way that tends to their contrasts and different needs. In the interview, the teacher is asked the most challenging disability that he has ever encountered. In his response, he says, “A student with Emotional behavior disorder.” This is a disability where the student cannot connect with the teacher or other people. To get through to the student, the teacher had to gather information on their emotional characters and used several ways. This included awarding gifts, devising, and emoji’s to express emotions. Different colors expressed different feelings like red to show anger, yellow to show getting upset and green to show happiness. This strategy is a great way to connect with these students who cannot show emotions (Roegman, 2020). The capacity to put ideas in understandable and intriguing words or show unpredictability in straightforward structure is frequently the best. Their ability to innovate and inspire will motivate the children to be imaginative and eager to learn.

However, as the teacher says from the interview, “Over time it became successful, but had to stay consistent, the physical digression episodes went down as weeks passed by.”  This shows that to become an individual education teacher, one needs to have a lot of patience. Dealing with standard students is already hard to let alone students with special needs. Consistency, too, is another vital virtue that is needed. Many teachers are not willing to repeat the same subject they teach in school. Being an individual education teacher is an art that many people do not possess

. From the interview, the teacher says, it was never his intension to become an individual education teacher. He insists that he missed a deadline, and only after being rejected, he had no choice to become an individual education teacher, the only job he got offered at that time. Unfortunately, the majority of the teachers get into teaching exceptional children, out of limited choices, or no choice at all. This is a with challenges just like any other job out there; however, most people take it since they have bills that need to be paid, family to be taken care of, but not because they take pleasure in teaching these kids. The majority of the teachers do not have specialized training to understand these children. From the example of emoji’s, the teacher is dedicated to teach and connect with students properly. Being an individual education teacher entails a lot. Many people would not wish to become one of the teachers. There is no enough support from the parents, and they do not fully support the strategies put in place by the teacher, which can be catastrophic for the students (Wilson, 2018). Specialized equipment, too, for the students, is not readily available, leaving the teachers innovativeness to cater to these students. It is challenging to instill discipline into these children. With standard students, they can get suspended to correct their behavior, but with children with disorders, it can be challenging. There are delicate ways to dealing with tantrums and uncontrollable emotions from children with different disabilities.

A lot of paperwork is another challenge, as these students need a unique technique to learn different concepts taught. The use of different colors to convey different meanings and various emotions, as seen from the interview, making the teachers feel neglected when proper support is not offered. Time has a way of making things more accessible, even for students with disabilities. With adequate support from teachers and parents, these students can have a life close to that of an average child.
