            The government view marriage and adultery to be two things which are completely different. The governments on the other hand have been trying to stop and discourage adultery by punishing those who are involved in such behaviors and are termed to be a crime; they have also managed to allow the blameless party in obtaining the divorce aligned with the adulterous spouse. Consequently, adultery in marriage was historically regarded to be legally wrong but not to be a crime. In different countries such as Europe, during the fifteenth century, practicing of adultery when one was already married was known to be a bad moral and it was punishable in courts by the church leaders who were given the roles of imposing good morals (Duncan, 2006).

In other courts such as ecclesiastical courts, practicing adultery was an act of having sexual intercourse with unmarried person; however, today adultery takes place even among the married couples. At the common laws, adultery is known to be a wrongful intercourse which occurs between the married woman as well as any man who is none other than her husband. In summary, the paper will analyze the religious views of marriage and adultery and how those views affects the government as well as analyzing whether the religious views work or does not work. They put more emphasis for the married couples to be mindful of their present moments arguing out that, cheating on the spouses are wrong and lead to lack of class no matter what they believe in, the Buddhist religion also emphasis on the look before you leap strategy.The religious aspect of marriage and adultery does not affect the government in any way. This is because most religions view marriage and adultery as a personal belief which is quite different from the government perception. The government can only discourage the behavior by punishing the involved parties but are not in apposition of making decisions to them whether to change from being adulterous or not.
