Such actions have not been taken well by activists and scientists who feel their work is being undermined and that the government is playing a reckless card.
One of the latest denials by the U.S administration is on the allegations that Mr. IndurM.Goklany, who is a staffer in the office of the deputy secretary, has been editing government’s scientific reports to show that increased carbon dioxide in the atmosphere has its benefits and that there lacks consensus among the scientists to prove that global warming is real (Lutz). The administration has been consistent in including such claims in nearly nine of the latest reports on environmental studies. Scientists and researchers have gone to great extents to prove that global warming is real and the effects of excessive carbon dioxide on the quality of air, water, and soil and how they impact human beings. Scientific reports are significant as they influence the implementation of major developmental policies that may adversely affect the quality of the environment. The author does provide the concerns of Jacquelyn Gill, an associate professor of paleoecology and plant ecology at the University of Maine, who represents the perspective of concerned scientists who feel undermined since the administration rides on discussions of uncertainty that depicts researchers as entities that cannot top up their findings in decision making (Lutz). Upholding misleading information is an attack on science.
The public has for long believed in scientific research, and for once, the government may lose their trust since scientific assessments are apolitical, but in the current trends are misleading.
